Product Dosing
All East Coast Herbalist products come standard with a measured dropper. This makes it easy to establish the right dosage for each individual. For this particular product, dosing is as follows:
0.25ml = 8mg CBD
0.5ml = 16mg CBD
0.75ml = 24mg CBD
1ml = 33mg CBD
If you are looking for a broad spectrum product (contains non-detectable amounts of THC), try our Blueberry Lemonade 1000mg Tincture.
If you are looking for an isolate product (contains no THC. Not even trace amounts), try our GreenMed Botanicals Citrus 1500mg Isolate Tincture.
Product Directions
This product is broad spectrum and is intended for daily use. According to our lab results, there is non detectable levels of THC this product. That being said, there may still be trace amounts of THC that could trigger a positive tox screen over time. Broad spectrum products have little to no potential for any feeling of intoxication from THC, but some people are particularly sensitive.
Everyone experiences a slightly different response, so our best advice is to start with a low dose and increase slowly until you reach the desired effects. We urge patients to commit to using any product consistently for at least 30 days to give enough time to evaluate how the product is working.
If you are new to taking these types of products, start with .25ml on the measured dropper 1x per day.
Take .25ml under the tongue 1x per day for 4 days.
If needed after 4 days, increase to .5ml under the tongue 1x per day for 4 days.
If needed after another 4 days, increase to .75ml under the tongue 1x per day for 4 days.
Continue increasing in .25ml increments until you feel like you are getting good results or experience undesired side effects. Side effects are typically mild and could include, grogginess, upset stomach, sleeplessness.
Just as a reference, some people respond great to .25ml and some respond to 3ml or more. There are many factors that dictate the effective dose like tolerance, body weight, and severity of symptoms.
Effective dosages are different for every individual and can range from 2mg – 300mg per serving or even higher. The best thing you can do is listen to your body and contact us directly with any questions.
Why Would I Use a Tincture?
Medicinally speaking, tinctures are typically our go-to as a prophylactic (daily use). Tinctures are best suited for daily use due to easy dosing and long acting effects.
Patients can use a measured dropper (standard on all of our products) to calculate the right dose. They can also change the dosage as needed.
For patients that are serious about getting the best results, a tincture offers dosing flexibility, better absorption than edibles, and are more cost effective in the long run if they are using daily.
Time for tinctures to take effect: 30 – 60 minutes
How long tinctures last: 4 – 6 hours
Tincture PROS:
- Easy to calculate dose using measured dropper
- Flexibility to change dose up and down as needed
- Faster acting than edibles or capsules
- Whole body effects that last
Tincture CONS:
- Some don’t like oil texture
- Not the best option for “as needed” issues
- Slightly shorter acting than edibles or capsules
Tinctures are best suited for:
- Patients that need to titrate dose up or down
- Someone looking for a daily use supplement
- Someone ready and willing to put in work to get results
Why Would I Use CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD): CBD is a compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD is non-intoxicating, unlike THC, which is the compound in marijuana responsible for the “high” feeling. CBD is considered extremely low risk, especially in the common doses taken over the counter. Despite that, there are some medication interactions you will want to be mindful of. If you are taking medications, you should discuss using CBD with your doctor before starting a regimen.
There are 3 types of CBD products that we sell to customers. Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, and Isolate.
Full Spectrum contains all the compounds found in the plant including small amounts of THC (under 0.3%), terpenes, flavonoids and other plant material. Many consider full spectrum to be more effective due to the Entourage Effect. The entourage effect is the idea that all the compounds in the plant work in harmony to give you a better result.
Broad Spectrum contains all the compounds found in the plant except for THC. THC is removed by the lab. This is great for customers who are nervous about having any THC in their products. The amount of THC in full spectrum products is typically not enough to make you feel high, but some can be particularly sensitive to these types of compounds. Broad spectrum can still give you an entourage effect, but with THC mostly removed. Lab results will show ND (non-detect) for THC in these products, but there are still trace amounts, so if you are subject to drug tests, we suggest isolate products.
CBD Isolate is isolated CBD. There are no other compounds present from the plant. CBD isolate gives you the same benefits as full or broad spectrum products, but may require higher doses. Keep in mind that everyone is different and will need to experiment with finding the right dose. You don’t get the entourage effect you get with full or broad spectrum products, but you can be sure there is no THC and you are safe from failing any drug test using this type of product.
