Everyone responds a little differently when using hemp products. If you are looking for more detailed info on dosing, check out our dosing guide by clicking this link.
Remember, start low and increase slowly to find your optimal dose. Our goal is to find the smallest dosage that gives you desirable results. This helps keep cost down and makes sure you don’t overshoot your therapeutic window. This also helps you evaluate what the monthly cost is and to gauge if yo need a product with a higher dose.
This bundle is intended to be daily use for best results. CBD:CBG for daytime and CBD:CBN for night time.
If just starting out, begin with 0.25ml on the measured dropper for each product. If you use 0.25ml of each product daily, this bundle will last you 4 months. That breaks down to $31.25 per month.
Increase dosage every 5 days as needed. If you feel like you need a little more, increase to 0.5ml on the measured dropper. Try that dosage for 5 days. Continue increasing by 0.25ml every 5 days until you reach the desired result.
Why Would I Use a Tincture?
Medicinally speaking, tinctures are typically our go-to as a prophylactic (daily use). Tinctures are best suited for daily use due to easy dosing and long acting effects. Patient’s can use a measured dropper (standard on all of our products) to calculate the right dose. They can also change the dosage as needed. For patients that are serious about getting the best results, a tincture offers dosing flexibility, better absorption than edibles, and are more cost effective in the long run if they are using daily.
Time for tinctures to take effect: 30 – 60 minutes
How long tinctures last: 4 – 6 hours
- Easy to calculate dose using measured dropper
- Flexibility to change dose up and down as needed
- Faster acting than edibles or capsules
- Whole body effects that last
- Some don’t like oil texture
- Not the best option for “as needed” issues
- Slightly shorter acting than edibles or capsules
Tinctures are best suited for:
- Patients that need to titrate dose up or down
- Someone looking for a daily use supplement
- Someone ready and willing to put in work to get results
Why Would I Use CBG?
Cannabigerol (CBG): Considered the mother of all cannabinoids, CBGa (the acidic precursor to CBG) is the first cannabinoid produced by a maturing cannabis plant. From there, most of the CBG turns into CBDa or THCa, so CBG is found in much smaller amounts in hemp and cannabis.
CBG is similar to CBD in that it is non-intoxicating, neuroprotective, and anti-inflammatory. Researchers believe CBG may have several potential uses including anxiety, inflammatory conditions, intraocular pressure, and cancer. Unfortunately, there is not enough evidence to claim CBG is effective for any of these conditions quite yet, but research is still in preliminary stages.
Here at East Coast, we typically add CBG in with CBD for patients that need something a little stronger. Anecdotally, patients seem to get a better effect, possibly due to the entourage effect as well as CBG acting on the receptors where CBD helps to produce and regulate endocannabinoids. Also, CBG seems to be stimulating or energizing to many users. Since the literature on CBG is preliminary or pretty much non existent, there aren’t any FDA indicated uses at this time, but we believe this may change in the future.
CBG Best Uses:
- Patients with more significant symptoms
- Stomach issues
Why Would I use CBN?
Cannabinol (CBN): Similar to CBG and CBD, CBN has a number of potential benefits. CBN can be found in “old weed” and is a product of THC degradation. Very limited data exists on the effects of CBN, but there have been animal studies that lead researchers to believe it has a more sedating effect. Also thought to be anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anti-bacterial, CBN is most commonly found in night time sleep aids.
CBN is a great product to use in tandem with CBD and CBG. Typically we suggest CBD and/or CBG during the day and a product with CBN an hour before bed. Again, the data is limited and the FDA has not indicated CBN for any of these specific uses, so it’s best to experiment with CBN yourself to see what kind of results you get.
CBN Best Uses:
- Night time use
- Potential as a sleep aid
