About GreenMed Salve
Our GreenMed high potency medical grade salve is formulated to tackle more significant symptoms than the run of the mill topical. Common dosages for topical products are 250mg, 500mg, and 1000mg, but we went big at 2000mg CBD and 100mg CBG for a full entourage effect.
In theory, a higher dosage of active ingredients increases the effectiveness of a product, but we have found that the accompanying ingredients are equally important.
Here’s the list of ingredients and what they contribute:
- Emu Oil – Utilized in traditional aboriginal medicine, Emu Oil acts as a transdermal driver to help active ingredients penetrate deep into skin and muscles for more relief
- Arnica Oil – Arnica Montana is a perennial flower used commonly in topical preparations for it’s analgesic effects
- Hemp Extract – Organic full spectrum oil with CBD and CBG
- MCT Oil – Moisturizes skin and promotes healing
- Shea Butter – Absorbs rapidly, has anti-inflammatory properties, and helps soothe skin
- Mango Butter – Like Shea Butter, has anti-inflammatory properties and helps give the salve a smoother consistency
- Menthol – A substance naturally found in mint, it gives a cooling sensation and is commonly used to relieve pain and irritation
- Camphor – Extracted from camphor trees and commonly used to increase blood flow and provide analgesic effects
- Copaiba – An oil resin from South American leguminous trees and used commonly for inflammation, pain, and wound healing
- Lavender – Gently moisturizes skin and is known for it’s anti-inflammatory and calming effects
This product is hand made with the finest organic ingredients and is extremely potent. If you are looking for something with a lower dosage or that is better for skin issues check out our East Coast Herbalist Lemongrass Salve 500mg.
GreenMed Salve Directions
This product is intended to be used as needed to address aches, inflammation, and calm irritated skin. A little goes a long way.
Apply just enough to lightly coat the affected area and massage into the skin as well as you can. Applying after a warm shower when your pores are open helps increase absorption and effectiveness.
You should feel the results within minutes. Apply more as needed.
We typically advise patients to use this topical up to 3-4 times per day for the first couple days. We do this to help address inflammation over the long run, which is commonly the root cause of other issues and complaints.
Many patients report that after a few days, they have to use the salve less frequently and experience extended relief. This is a great rub to use after workouts as well to help increase recovery speed.
GreenMed RELIEF Tincture Dosing
All GreenMed products come standard with a measured dropper. This makes it easy to establish the right dosage for each individual.
For each different strength tincture, dosing is as follows:
- GreenMed RELIEF 1000mg
0.25ml = 4mg CBD | 4mg CBG
0.5ml = 8mg CBD | 8mg CBG
0.75ml = 12mg CBD | 12mg CBG
1ml = 16mg CBD | 16mg CBG - GreenMed RELIEF 2000mg
0.25ml = 8mg CBD | 8mg CBG
0.5ml = 16mg CBD | 16mg CBG
0.75ml = 24mg CBD | 24mg CBG
1ml = 33mg CBD | 33mg CBG
- GreenMed RELIEF 4000mg
0.25ml = 16mg CBD | 16mg CBG
0.5ml = 33mg CBD | 33mg CBG
0.75ml = 50mg CBD | 50mg CBG
1ml = 66mg CBD | 66mg CBG
If you are new to using these types of products, we suggest starting with the 1000mg option first. This cost the least and is a good way to experiment and find the right dose that works for you.
If the product works well, you can buy the larger dosages to last longer and save lots of money in the long run!
GreenMed RELIEF Tincture Directions
This product is intended for daily use. Everyone experiences a slightly different response, so our best advice is to start with a low dose and increase slowly until you reach the desired effects. We urge patients to commit to using any product consistently for at least 30 days to give enough time to evaluate how the product is working.
If you are new to taking these types of products, start with .25ml every morning on the measured dropper.
Take 0.25ml under the tongue 1x per day for 4 days.
After 4 days (if needed), increase to 0.5ml under the tongue 1x per day and continue this dose for 4 days.
After another 4 days, Increase to 0.75ml under the tongue 1x per day if needed and continue this dose for 4 days.
Continue increasing in .25ml increments every 4 days until you feel like you are getting good results. If you experience any side effects, lower the dose or discontinue use. Side effects are typically mild and could include, lethargy, upset stomach, sleeplessness.
Just as a point of reference, some people respond great to 0.25ml daily. Some need 2-3ml daily or more. There are many factors that dictate the effective dose like tolerance, body weight, and severity of symptoms.
Effective dosages are different for every individual and can range from 2mg – 300mg or even higher. The best thing you can do is listen to your body.

Why Would I Use a Tincture?
For patients that are serious about getting the best results, a tincture offers dosing flexibility, better absorption than edibles, and is more cost effective in the long run.
Using a measured dropper (standard on all of our products) makes it easy to track what dosage is effective for you. You can also change the dosage as needed by using the measured dropper as a guide.
Tincture PROS:
- Easy to calculate dose using measured dropper
- Flexibility to change dose up and down as needed
- Faster acting than edibles or capsules
- Whole body effects that last
Tincture CONS:
- Some don’t like oil texture
- Not the best option for “as needed” issues
- Slightly shorter acting than edibles or capsules
Tinctures are best suited for:
- Patients that need to titrate dose up or down
- Someone looking for a daily use supplement
- Someone ready and willing to put in work to get results
Time for tinctures to take effect: 30 – 60 minutes
How long effects last: 4 – 6 hours
Why Would I Use CBG?
Cannabigerol (CBG): Considered the mother of all cannabinoids, CBGa (the acidic precursor to CBG) is the first cannabinoid produced by a maturing cannabis plant. From there, most of the CBG turns into CBDa or THCa, so CBG is found in much smaller amounts in hemp and cannabis.
CBG is similar to CBD in that it is non-intoxicating, neuroprotective, and anti-inflammatory. Researchers believe CBG may have several potential uses including anxiety, inflammatory conditions, intraocular pressure, and cancer. Unfortunately, there is not enough evidence to claim CBG is effective for any of these conditions quite yet, but research is still in preliminary stages.
Here at East Coast, we typically add CBG in with CBD for patients that need something a little stronger. Anecdotally, patients seem to get a better effect, possibly due to the entourage effect as well as CBG acting on the receptors where CBD helps to produce and regulate endocannabinoids. Also, CBG seems to be stimulating or energizing to many users. Since the literature on CBG is preliminary or pretty much non existent, there aren’t any FDA indicated uses at this time, but we believe this may change in the future.
CBG Best Uses:
- Patients with more significant symptoms
- Aches/Inflammation
- Stress
- Stomach issues
Why Would I Use a Topical?
Topical products are great for as needed issues that are treated on contact. Results are nearly immediate and can last a couple hours.
Topicals are great for addressing soreness, skin irritations, or stiff muscles and joints. Additionally, there is no worry of feeling intoxicated as the psychoactive compounds in cannabis do not break the blood barrier when applied on the skin.
Time for topicals to take effect: 5 minutes
How long tinctures last: 1 – 2 hours
Topical PROS:
- No potential for intoxication
- Apply as needed when experiencing symptoms
- Fast Acting
- Discrete
- No plant taste
Topical CONS:
- Not long acting
- Some have strong smells of menthol
- Only effective at the area applied to
Topicals are best suited for:
- achey joints and muscles
- Skin Irritations
- Post Workout Recovery
- Fast Acting Relief
