Read directions before use and proceed with caution. HHC can be intoxicating, relaxing, and extremely sedating at high dosages. We always suggest to start with a small dose (0.25ml – 0.5ml) to gauge how this HHC product effects you. Effects from ingesting this tincture can take anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes to set in.
If unfamiliar with HHC, start with 0.25ml under the tongue. 0.25ml of this product equals 4mg of HHC, and 4mg of CBD. Despite this being a relatively small dose, it is better to start low than over do it. Feel free to increase in 0.25ml increments every serving until you reach the desired effects.
- 0.25ml = 4mg HHC | 4mg CBD
- 0.5ml = 8mg HHC | 8mg CBD
- 0.75ml = 12mg HHC | 12mg CBD
- 1ml = 16mg HHC | 16mg CBD
What is HHC?
Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a rare cannabinoid found in hemp and cannabis plants. HHC is the hydrogenated version of THC, but is slightly less intoxicating. The HHC used in our products is hemp derived making it federally legal.
HHC is a semi-synthetic cannabinoid because it is naturally occurring in hemp plants, but it is synthesized in a professional laboratory using CBD. The hydrogenation process is similar to how vegetable oil is turned to margarine, so feel confident that the same process is used in common foods we consume regularly.
Users of HHC report that it is slightly less intoxicating than THC and incredibly relaxing. HHC has similar therapeutic qualities to THC and we frequently combine this cannabinoid with other compounds to provide the tailored effect consumers are looking for. Keep in mind, it is best to start with a low dose if you are not experienced with cannabis products (we suggest 0.25ml in this tincture) so you can gauge how HHC effects you.
Why Use HHC with CBD?
We choose to mix HHC and CBD together at a 1:1 ratio because HHC provides similar therapeutic qualities to THC. In regards to the limited research we have for cannabis, most of the available data shows several conditions respond well to CBD and THC at a 1:1 ratio. Using HHC instead of THC is our “hemp” version of this unique and effective combination.
HHC is known to be very relaxing. We would say that HHC provides a low key “Indica” feeling users might be looking for.
Similar to Delta8, HHC provides a less intoxicating experience than THC. This is one of the reasons some people favor these cannabinoids. They are looking for less of a high, but similar medicinal value.
Like THC, HHC may interact with pain receptors in our body. The theory is that HHC provides a great way to address pain related issues just like THC does.
Also like THC, HHC provides a euphoric intoxication. While this can be great for pain and mood related issues, it doesn’t help much in terms of being productive and motivated. From a medical perspective, the intoxication provides relief, but is also a major drawback in terms of being functional, motivated, and alert.
One of the main issues with THC is it is easy to over do it. Too high a dose for a novice user can mean increased anxiety, paranoia, and other undesirable effects.
CBD is known to counteract the “high” THC provides to users. CBD also provides a host of therapeutic value in particular for inflammation, which is often the root cause of pain.
So, the CBD serves 2 functions:
- First, it helps to address the underlying causes of symptoms
- Second, it counteracts the “high” HHC provides
This let’s the user tolerate a higher dosage to address symptoms. Additionally, the patient can choose to take a smaller “microdose” and feel some relief without a lot of intoxication.
Keep in mind that every person responds a little bit differently. Our best advice is to listen to your body and start low and increase dosage slowly.
This info is a view into why we combine HHC and CBD at the dosage in this product. At this time, these types of products are not approved by the FDA. There is not enough data to know exactly how these compounds work best for patients. All we have at this point is anecdotal evidence from other patients. The best thing you can do is educate yourself and do your due diligence before trying a product. If it feels like it may provide what you are looking for, start with a low dose and increase slowly to find the best results.
HHC Best Uses:
- Night Time Use
Why Use a Tincture?
Medicinally speaking, tinctures are typically our go-to as a prophylactic (daily use). Tinctures are best suited for daily use due to easy dosing and long acting effects. Patient’s can use a measured dropper (standard on all of our products) to calculate the right dose. They can also change the dosage as needed. For patients that are serious about getting the best results, a tincture offers dosing flexibility, higher absorption than edibles, and are more cost effective in the long run if they are using daily.
Time for tinctures to take effect: 30 – 60 minutes
How long tinctures last: 4 – 6 hours
- Easy to calculate dose using measured dropper
- Flexibility to change dose up and down as needed
- Faster acting than edibles or capsules
- Whole body effects that last
- Some don’t like oil texture
- Not the best option for “as needed” issues
- Slightly shorter acting than edibles or capsules
Tinctures are best suited for:
- Patients that need to titrate dose up or down
- Someone looking for a daily use supplement
- Someone ready and willing to put in work to get results
