CBD Sugar Exfoliating DIY Scrub Recipe

Sugar exfoliating scrubs can help revitalize your skin and enhance its appearance. It is easy to incorporate CBD oil into your favorite exfoliating recipes. Gently removing dead skin cells and clearing pores helps to restore a healthy complexion. And with spring here, there has never been a better time to boost your skin tone with the help of CBD oil.

CBD (cannabidiol) is an extract from the cannabis plant and is legal to use in skincare. Many commercial exfoliants, moisturizers, eye serums, and body lotions contain CBD oil, and a few drops go a long way.

Here’s our sugar exfoliating recipe to use for your CBD skincare routine this springtime.

CBD Sugar Exfoliating Recipe

This DIY recipe uses natural, non-abrasive ingredients to remove dead skin cells, clear pores, and soothe irritation. To benefit your skin, the sugar scrub contains CBD isolate — the purest form of cannabidiol.

For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 0.5 grams CBD Isolate (click the link to buy CBD Isolate)
  • 5 tablespoons of Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Jojoba oil
  • 4 tablespoons of raw honey
  • ½ cup of Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Citrus zest
  • 5-6 drops of Orange essential oil

How to make an exfoliating CBD sugar scrub:

  1. Combine 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil into a beaker or medium-sized glass measuring cup.
  2. Put enough water in a large pot so you can add the glass mixing cup to a double boiler and gently heat the oils on medium heat
  3. Weigh out .5 grams of CBD isolate and add it to the gently heated oil. Mix vigorously until incorporated. Remove the glass from the double boiler after mixed.
  4. Add 4 tablespoons of raw honey and mix (no more heat necessary)
  5. Slowly incorporate 1/2 cup of brown sugar and mix to achieve the right consistency.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon zest and 5 or 6 drops of orange essential oil and mix well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a sealable container. The sugar body scrub will keep longer if refrigerated.
  8. Use the body scrub once a week to exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells.

If you need a more abrasive exfoliant for removing dead skin cells from your feet, you can replace brown sugar with white sugar.

If You Prefer Hemp Flower Instead of CBD Isolate

If you prefer a “Full Spectrum” product, you can use hemp flower to infuse CBD into the oils instead of CBD Isolate. See below for steps to infuse CBD using flower:

  1. Take 3 grams of hemp flower and break it up into small pieces by hand.
  2. Place in a silicone oven-safe container or spread out onto a small baking sheet.
  3. Preheat oven to 240 F
  4. When oven reaches temp, place tray with a flower on the middle rack and cook for 90 minutes (this decarbs flower turning CBDa to CBD)
  5. Once the flower is decarbed, add the flower to the mix of jojoba oil and olive oil.
  6. Cook the flower and oil on the double boiler of the stovetop at medium heat for 30-60 minutes. Stir oil and flower for a few minutes every 5-10 minutes.
  7. After the flower is cooked adequately into oil, strain oil through cheesecloth to remove plant material into a small mixing bowl
  8. Add 4 tablespoons of raw honey and mix (no more heat necessary)
  9. Slowly incorporate 1/2 cup of brown sugar and mix to achieve the right consistency.
  10. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon zest and 5 or 6 drops of orange essential oil and mix well.
  11. Transfer the mixture to a sealable container. The sugar body scrub will keep longer if refrigerated.
  12. Use the body scrub once a week to exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells.
